Williams propels Stallions to win

GUNTERSVILLE — Noah Williams powered Marshall Christian School to a 38-26 homecoming victory over Cornerstone Christian of Rainsville on Thursday night.

Williams rushed 16 times for 351 yards and six touchdowns. He averaged 21.9 yards per carry. He completed 2-of-8 passes for 52 yards.

Christian Taymon had both receptions and also rushed seven times for 61 yards.

Marshall Christian (2-1) led 19-13 at intermission but trailed 20-19 after three periods. Williams ran for a trio of fourth-quarter touchdowns to secure the Stallions’ win in the Alabama Christian Athletic Association matchup.

Williams topped the Stallions’ defense with 11.5 tackles, seven tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles.

Tanner Gibson recorded 6.5 tackles, one forced fumble, one tackle for a loss and one fumble recovery. Hunter Gibson made 5.5 tackles.

Will Lynn finished with 3.5 tackles and one tackle for a loss. Taymon had 2.5 tackles and Cole Gilliland one. Kyle Sims recovered two fumbles.

Marshall Christian’s next game is Sept. 21 at Victory Christian of Millbrook at 7 p.m.
