I Had to Triple Cleanse My Face to Remove This Long-Lasting Liquid Liner

The truest test of a liquid eyeliner's ability to make fine lines is creating a graphic eye makeup look with it. When I saw "slim" in the name of the La Splash Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner, I figured it would be up for the challenge. Spoiler alert: the Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner exceeded my expectations.

My eye makeup typically consists of bold, geometric lines instead of delicate ones — mostly because thick lines are easier and quicker to draw than thin ones. If a line is uneven, I can fix it by making it thicker.

Thin lines, on the other hand, have to be straight and perfect on your first try and I've found that a lot of eyeliners can never make lines as thin as I want them to be. However, now that I've discovered the Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner, I'm finally going to incorporate finer lines into my makeup repertoire. The felt-tip pen is so simple to use, even when using it to create some of my more complicated designs. With a gentle, feather-like touch, the liner easily etches on paper-thin lines. And if you want your lines to come out thicker, just use a bit more pressure.

After coating my lids in a coral cream eye shadow, I used the Art-Ki-Tekt liner traced my top and bottom lashes. I probably held my breath the entire time I drew on the thin lines, but the momentary stop of oxygen intake was worth it. The lines were the perfect thinness.

After putting patience and effort into my look, I knocked on wood and crossed my fingers that it would last all day long. My eyes tend to water with even the slightest gust of wind, so I'm used to touching up smudges throughout the day. But I didn't have to with this liner. The graphic design looked just as good in the evening as it did when I applied it in the morning.

When it came time to wash my face, I started off by wiping off my eye makeup with cleansing water on a cotton pad. That only removed the shadow underneath it, though. Then I tried using a cleansing balm, which at first rub didn't seem to be doing anything and I immediately got nervous that I'd ben stuck with this liner on my face for the foreseeable future. But after a minute-long facial massage, the oils in the balm finally started melting the liner away. I followed the cleansing balm up with a water-based face wash, and by the time I was done triple cleansing, every speck of the liner was gone. Taking my experience into account, if all you use to wash your face is a makeup wipe, prepare to have the same eye makeup two days in a row. I guess that's another plus of the LASplash Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner for those who are into that kind of thing. I prefer to try out different shapes and lines on my lids every day, but the liner allows me to do that, too.

You'll find this eyeliner, along with 4 other products, in our December 2018 Allure Beauty Box for just $10.
